  2. • How ResExpress is distributed
  3. • About ResExress Junior (ResX Jr) for commercial distribution
  4. • How to install ResExpress

  6. •Installing ResExpress:
  7. System 6.0.X:
  8.     ResExpress is a Desk Accessory (DA) and can be installed either 
  9.     with the Font/DA mover or with Suitcase II or a similar
  10.     product.  The ResExpress Launcher is an application to launch
  11.     ResExpress but will only work AFTER the DA is installed under
  12.     the AppleMenu.
  13.  
  14.   If running Sys6.0.5 and MultiFinder, ResExpress may unexpectedly
  15.   quit when viewing resources.  The reason is that in Sys6 and MF,   
  16.   DA's run in the System Heap which might not expand as it should.
  17.   Use a utility such as Heap Fixer to expand the System Heap.
  18.   ResX runs best under Sys7.

  20. System 7.0.X:
  21.     ResExpress is still a DA and may be installed with Suitcase II
  22.     or similar product.  Otherwise, it is treated as an application
  23.     by System 7.  Double click on the DA and drag ResExpress out
  24.     of the DA file.  Place it in the Apple Menu folder.

  26.   If installing with Suitcase II, be sure to use atleast version
  27.   1.2.10.  If ResExpress doesn't appear when launching, drag 
  28.   ResExpress out of the DA file and place it in the Apple Menu 
  29.   folder.

  31. NOTE!:
  32.     It is recommended that under System 7, ResExpress is installed
  33.     and visible under the Apple Menu.  The ResExpress Launcher
  34.     expects the DA to be there and makes installing externals as
  35.     easy as double clicking.

  37. •How ResExpress is distributed.
  38. ResExpress is distributed as Shareware.  This means that you
  39. can freely distribute it.  If you use it, you should pay.  See
  40. "ResX Registration Form" for pricing and order infomation.

  42. •Commercial Distribution:  (ResExpress Junior)
  43. The _Shareware_ version of ResExpress may not be distributed
  44. with commercial products.  However there is a scaled down
  45. version of ResExpress called ResExpress Junior (ResX Jr) that
  46. is a special version specifically designed to be distributed
  47. with other products.  It contains many of the features of the
  48. Shareware version but allows only a limited number of externals
  49. to be installed and is customized for the product it will be
  50. distributed with.  There are many products that can take advantage
  51. of ResExpress!   For more information and pricing, contact
